Factory operations

Every panel barcoded from the first cut.

An office furniture order is not one object. It is a few hundred panels that must move through six operations in the right sequence and arrive at packing as a complete set. Almost every delay in the modular furniture industry is a panel that went missing between two stations and was not noticed until dispatch.

ST01

Pressing

Boards are laminated to the finish specified for your furniture.

ST02

Beam saw

Boards are cut down into the individual panels of your order. Barcodes are applied here.

ST03

Edge banding

Exposed edges are banded. Every 18 mm panel is banded on all four sides as standard, not only where it shows.

ST04

Six-side drilling

Hardware and assembly holes are machined from the same program file that generated the cutting list, so the panel and its fittings cannot disagree.

ST05

Quality check

Dimension, finish and edge inspected against the specification before packing.

ST06

Packing & dispatch

The furniture order is reconciled panel by panel. A short set is found at the OutDo plant, not on your site.

This is why OutDo can commit to three-to-four weeks against an industry standard of five to six — and why the OutDo delivery record is something we measure rather than assert.
